Reflections #02

I observed that nowadays a lot of small kids have their own smartphones, which my peers when they used to be the same age didn't even know about. In primary school we had those old-school phones, probably reusing after our parents, but no one thought of any other model. It was just enough for a kid's needs. But I noticed that our times have changed and children use smartphones constantly and switch them as a new kind of entertainment. I haven't seen any chlid yet having some issues with the telephone service as well. When kids are bored they often bring out their phones and tend to watch something on it or browse the internet. I don't want to sound like an old aunt complaining about the technology but it really bothers me how often nowadays we can see a toddler watching something on a phone or older kids who are fully capable of using their own smartphones.

  1. We'll get to learn the consequences of this technological change quite soon. One which is already visible is the deterioration of social skills.

  2. The times have changed so kids have changed too. I don't believe a situation like that'll last for a long time because people'll see the consequences soon.
