During the summer I was with my friend in the shopping centre. We went to the bathroom where we met a cleaning woman. After a few seconds we came in she asked me if I wore a lipstick. I had red lips so I admitted it and then her next question was about my age. I told her that I was 16 and the conversation suddenly ended. She probably thought that I'm much younger so it's inappropriate to wear colourful lips or makeup in general. But even if I were it really wouldn't change anything. In my opinion, it's definitely not her issue and she shouldn't care about somebody's appearance. It's very upsetting that people constantly interfere with affairs which don’t concern them. I also don’t understand why people think that wearing a makeup should be adjusted to age. I find it all quite ridiculous.
A cleaning lady making remarks about your make-up is clearly inappropriate. On the other hand, though, shouldn't we sometimes interfere when something bad is taking place? Like kids or teenagers drinking alcohol or stealing something?
OdpowiedzUsuńI agree, she shouldn't say that. For me, it's good to make remarks about somebody's bad behaviour but when the situation apllies to the others appearance it's just impolite to make a comment.
